Meet the Candidates: Doug Racine

 DOUGLAS A. RACINE of Richmond, was born in Burlington, Vermont, on October 7, 1952. He graduated from Burlington High School in 1970, and then graduated with honors from Princeton University in 1974. He worked for U.S. Senator Patrick J. Leahy as a legislative assistant in Washington and Montpelier from 1975 to 1978. He is serving his seventh term in the State Senate representing Chittenden County. Currently the Chair of the Senate Health and Welfare Committee, he has also chaired the Senate Natural Resources and Energy Committee and served on the Appropriates and Economic Development committees. He was President Pro Tempore of the senate from 1989 through 1992. He was Vermont’s Lieutenant Governor from 1997 to 2002.
